A Mid Year Check-in on my 2020 Goals

It's the mid year. Six months of 2020 are gone and six months remain. If you made any goals for the year, now is a good time to review and see if you're on track to achieve them or if you need to make adjustments. Since 2020 has been a year like no other, I thought it would be interesting to look at my personal goals and see where I fall. Check out my full list of 2020 goals here.

I started the year with lots of travel. My January and February were filled with fun trips to Cabo (twice!), Asheville and Los Angeles. Since one of my goals was to travel often, I was surely on track to surpass the number of trips I took in 2019. Covid definitely hindered this goal, but after lockdowns were lifted I was able to safely start traveling again and visiting friends and family.

My goal of spending the first 15 minutes of my day doing my devotional, praying, and doing something that makes me happy (like enjoying my coffee or texting a friend) led me to slow down my once hectic mornings. Additionally, through completing this daily ritual of sorts I found that I started relying more on God more than ever. Hebrews 13:8 says that "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever." As the news flashed anxiety provoking stories and while my once normal routines like driving to work became a thing of the past, I found peace knowing that God still holds my future and his love could never change. Spending time with Him during the beginning of my day helped me to trust that this global situation is all in His plan.

I knew that I wanted to create and start a business this year, but I wasn't sure what it would be. I'm excited to say that I'm certain of what I want to do now and I can't wait to share it with you!! More to come on this goal soon...

Growing my blog and Instagram is an ongoing goal of mine mainly because its the vehicle that I build my brand and business from! My blog has continued to grow exponentially which blows my mind! I'm so happy to share the things that I love and look forward to continuing to do it this year.

Finally, lets talk about my goal of being true to myself. In a world where comparing yourself to someone being a click away, it can be hard to remain real. I've found that I'm my happiest when I quit looking around and focus on whats ahead of me. I remember when I ran track I would often look around at where the other runners were. It wasn't until my coach told me that I needed to run my own race that things changed. I set my sights on my goal and ran as fast as I could. I want to continue to remind myself to "run my own race" this year and focus on being true to me.

I'd love to know how you're doing in achieving your 2020 goals!

Here's what I'm loving this July 2020:
