How to Host the Happiest Happy Hour at Home

10/20/2019

Since the weather is cooling down, I've been spending more time inside at home than on the porches of Dallas restaurants after work. Let me tell you, hosting a happy hour at home for your friends is so. much. fun. There's nothing better than inviting your squad over and talking over some home made snacks and cocktails. Today, I'm showing you some of my favorite cocktail recipes to try with your besties this fall thanks to Katy Trail Vodka.

Why is vodka my drink of choice? It's smooth, light, and low calorie. Katy Trail Vodka is my favorite because it's distilled 10 times and made with no artificial flavors or colors. The distilling process is important because the more times vodka is distilled, the more impurities are drawn out, leaving you with a higher quality vodka. Your happy hour should only include the best, right?! Plus, unlike other companies that us refined white sugars, Katy Trail Vodka sweetens their vodkas naturally with organic agave. They have Original, Lemon and Oro Blanco Grapefruit flavors.

Your happy hour check list:

  • amazing drinks

  • yummy snacks

  • a killer playlist

  • hot gossip

Cocktails That Make Happy Hour Even Happier:

Fall Cider Sangria

1 bottle white wine (best with a Sauvignon Blanc or Chardonnay)

1 quart apple cider

1 cup Katy Trail Vodka

2 green apples cut in thin slices

Frozen grapes to keep the sangria cold

Freeze the grapes overnight Place frozen grapes and sliced apples in a pitcher. Stir in wine, cider, and vodka. Cover and refrigerate. Partially fill drinking glasses with frozen grapes and fill with sangria.

 Cinnamon Cranberry Vodka

1 shot (1 1/2 ounces) Katy Trail Vodka

1 teaspoon orange liquor, such as Triple Sec

Plain, cranberry or orange flavored soda/tonic water

Cinnamon stick and orange slice for garnish

Pour Katy Trail Vodka and orange liquor in a glass. Top the drink with soda or tonic water and garnish with cinnamon stick and an orange slice.

Spiked Pumpkin Spiced Latte

1 cup milk (I used almond milk)

3 tablespoons canned pumpkin (not pumpkin pie mix)

1 to 3 tablespoons sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla

1/4 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice

1/2 cup hot coffee

2 tablespoons (1 oz) Katy Trail Vodka

2 tablespoons (1 oz) rum and coffee liqueur

In a saucepan, heat milk, pumpkin and sugar over medium heat. Remove from heat. Stir in vanilla, pumpkin pie spice, coffee, Katy Trail Vodka, and coffee liqueur.

Whether you plan on making these for a crowd or just for you and bae, you can be sure that these recipes will have you feeling ready for the changing leaves and cooler temperatures. What's your favorite recipe? Let me know what you try! Thank you Katy Trail Vodka for partnering with me on this post! Find out more about them here.
