Finding a Work-Life Balance

Work plays a big role in our lives, especially when you start budgeting in those new shoes you want...

But all work and no play? Not this girl.

Taking time off from work or taking an hour to do something you love every now and then is a great way to get away from the hustle and bustle of the working woes. This weekend I flew to Cabo San Lucas to spend time with some of my family and friends. Being a soon-to-be college grad (taking 21 hours this semester...), times like this recharge me more than anything else. With my corporate career waiting for me around the corner, taking some time to relax helps me find a balance between giving my best efforts at work/school and to myself personally. Employers expect a lot from their employees, which can leave us feeling drained as we try to keep up and achieve the results we need. Striking a balance between your personal and work life can improve your productivity and happiness. You don't need to go to Cabo to find your balance.

Here are some examples of how you and I can find some me-time at home:

Put one day aside to do a hobby you love - mine is blogging :)

Exercise before or after work

Meal prep - I wrote about how I do this. You can find it here.

Get involved with your community

Take yourself on a date (get your nails done, bake some treats, take a bath, etc.)

Go to happy hour with your work friends

Explore your city or hometown - sometimes the most beautiful things are right here in front of us

Online shop... this one is dangerous

Here are some pictures from my latest adventure:

What's your favorite way to relax after a long week?
