Yellow, the color of sunshine, lemons and the brick road in the Wizard of Oz. Sorry if that song is in your head now. Today, I wore a yellow midi dress to lunch with my friend Shai. We had the best time at Legacy West's Shake Shack. She took the beautiful photos you just saw. Thank you Shai!! Find her information below.
Since today was particularly sunny today in Dallas even though the temps never rose above 42 Fahrenheit, I wanted to wear something that matched the bright outdoors. I went with this Zara cotton midi dress. Sadly, this isn't sold any more, but I found a great alternative. Its soft, stretchy and is the same yellow color. I threw my cropped leather jacket over top and wore my grey suede Linea Paolo boots I found in Seattle. Read about my trip here!
My favorite part of this outfit is this double buckle belt. I think it's the perfect accessory to put with a longer dress. I'm wearing Kendra Scott earrings and necklace. I love how the jewel tones stand out against the bright yellow. Check out Kendra's website ASAP. Huge sale going on right now (extra 15% off of sale)!!

Today's Happy Thought:
Today's vibrancy made me think about how sometimes there will come days where you have to be your own sunshine. Or BYOS, if you will (Bring Your Own Sunshine). Whether its the crime on the news or something happening in your own life bringing you down, I think its important to remember that brighter days will come. When life gives you lemons...
No matter what this year brings, look on the brighter side of life.
Thank you for reading.
