1 Year of Cabo Couture

I have a vivid memory from last summer sitting in my office chair, coffee in hand, logging into my job about to start another day tracking container ships and clearing international goods for one of the largest global logistics companies in the world. I worked really hard in college to get my logistics and supply chain management degree where I learned the business of how closely tied customer service and logistics are. I loved my job but knew that I had a dream of owning my own business. Shortly after shuffling through emails and telling my team hello (via messenger because we were all working from home), I picked up a journalling book and flipped it to the page below. I started envisioning exactly what I wanted in life and wrote it down in detail.

Inspired by wanting to feel the way I did on vacation amidst a world confined by the limitations of Covid, I worked for months staying up late working with manufacturers to create my dream brand of women's swim and athleticwear. I created pieces made from colorful materials and named each garment after my favorite places and things in Cabo. After much anticipation, I heard a UPS truck outside my house and watched a delivery driver drop off two huge boxes of merchandise. Part of me was terrified and another part of me came alive. I quit my job and started working on Cabo Couture and monetizing my blog the Dallas Heiress. This weekend will mark one year since I launched my business! What a year it's been! I've shipped countless packages, sold merchandise into multiple stores, hosted pop-up shops, and was a part of The Oscar's 2021 gifting event where I got to meet some of my favorite celebrities and give them pieces from my brand!! In addition, I've grown my blog following by the thousands and worked with some of my favorite brands.

I'm excited to see what this next year brings and I'm so grateful for all of the help I've had along the way. Cabo Couture means so much to me, not only because it's my job, but because it's allowed me to believe that anyone can live their dream life. Sometimes you just have to take a leap of faith and trust that the passion you have for something is yours for a reason. I have a lot more to do and am still learning this business daily, but I have never been happier believing in my crazy ideas :)
